I will be donating my hair to Locks of Love this spring with my sweet drummer, Jeremy.  For those of you who would like to donate with us, you can go to their site ( www.locksoflove.org ) and get all their details.  Drop me a line at

and I will let you know the date that we are looking to donate...it might be fun to all chop and donate together on the same day! ...who knows, maybe we buzz the whole darn thing off! "

This morning I called my pop from Cheyenne WY....it has such a cowboy feel I knew he would dig the fact that I was there.  He was thrilled - said he always wanted to visit Cheyenne because they are supposed to have a great rodeo.  hmmm. not exactly my favorite form of entertainment, my was glad my visit could bring him a smile.

It is nearly noon and we are driving through southern Idaho....there must have been a slight dusting of snow last night while we were sleeping, because the ground is a soft, desert white. I love the feeling I get when driving into the southwest....it is almost a feeling of expectancy...a craving for deep browns and rusts and hazy rose colored hills and earth.

Several people have been asking me what guitar I play - I have a Simon & Patrick Acoustic. They are a small company based in Canada. I really like the hollow, woody sound of their guitars (especially mine) and the spooky, lonely way it sounds with finger picking. I also have an old Kay that my lovely guitar player gave me that I reallly love, and a nice Fender acoustic twelve string from the 60's that's fun to play....but I always end up back with my  Simon & Patrick.

The sun in Seattle has been lovely and lingering and somewhat hard to get used to...when we actually do get a summer it is almost like we get a taste of what the rest of the country must feel in May - August...warmth!

Last Saturday's concert was more sweet than I could I have expected...just as I was getting on stage the sun was beginning to hover on the horizon where the sea meets the sky...the crowd was amazing and the songs slipped right out of me effortlessly...I love those moments!

Mr. Chris Isaak's performance was an entertaining combination of broken-hearted-weepy-songs and old cowboy-rodeo glitter. Opening for him really was a good time!

Today's' rain I find somewhat alluring and I am caught up in the wonderment of why I live and breath and write where I do. I have spent much of this past weekend and afternoon listening to the music of some of my favorite artists...I whole heartedly recommend them and hope you find them as sweet to the ears I do!

Lucinda Williams ~ 'Essence'
Mojave 3 ~ 'excuses for travellers'
Cowboy Junckies ~ 'open'
Over The Rhine ~ 'Films For Radio'
Spain ~ 'She Haunts My Dreams'
Gillian Welch ~ ' (Time) The Revelator'
